Our
Love
Story
It’s not a secret that Gemma and Darren first met over a well known dating app, what is a closely kept secret is who super-liked who first…
Our first date was on 20 February 2021, right in the midst of Covid, our first few dates consisted of some experimental cooking that must have done the trick as Gemma decided to keep coming back to Plymouth for further dates.
After our long-distance (by Janner terms) first few months and a holiday to Tenerife – which by all accounts Darren was lucky to survive – Gemma moved to Plymouth in September 2021. In the years since we’ve adopted a little furball Edith, who may make an appearance of sorts at our wedding.

We’ve been incredibly lucky to travel to some beautiful places during our relationship. We’ve joined our friends in a stunning wedding location in Poland, we’ve caught the night train across to Prague and back in December 2023 whilst in New York, at the ‘Top of the Rock’ Gemma agreed, after initial shock, to marriage.
Top of the rock
It’s been fast forward these past couple of years’ since our engagement, the time is coming upon us quickly and as we countdown to our special day we are very thankful for the help from friends and family. We are both incredibly excited for our wedding day, and even more grateful to have so many brilliant people to share it with.
